Universal Energy Facility opens pre-qualification for mini-grid projects in Benin

The Universal Energy Facility, a results-based financing facility, is inviting pre-qualification submissions from companies for the development of mini-grid projects in Benin.

The facility is managed by Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL), with the Benin window funded by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

The multi-donor results-based financing facility provides incentive payments to eligible organizations that deploy energy solutions and provide verified end-user energy connections, whereas the GBE project provides technical assistance during the project implementation.

The application window for Benin is now open, and interested mini-grid developers are encouraged to start pre-qualification.
