Green People’s Energy live at European Development Days – How to maximize the impact of energy access

Bärbel Höhn debating how a green and just energy shift drives opportunities for development

Energy can (em)power practically any aspect of people’s livelihoods. Real and long-lasting results, however, can be a challenge. The key question is which specific development challenges to address for energy access approaches to be successful? How do these approaches take individuals’ opportunities and motivations into account – and those of their communities?

Providing answers to these questions, Bärbel Höhn (special representative for energy in Africa for the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development) will be joining Dr. Willington Ortiz (researcher at Wuppertal Institute) and Silvia Sartori (Energia) in a lab debate at the European Development Days on 21st June in Brussels.

WISIONS of sustainability, a Wuppertal Institute programme, is organising the session together with Green People’s Energy (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH, GIZ) and Energypedia. For more information on how to follow the Lab Debate, register on the European Development Days event website.
